How do I apply for a place at Nightingale House?

You can download the application form and medical form, complete them and email or send to our Residents Services Department. The medical form must be completed by a prospective resident’s GP.

How is my stay at Nightingale House funded?

How much savings can a resident have before qualifying for funding by a local authority?

The amount changes each year, so please see our Guide to Fees and Funding leaflet here.

Are there any other costs, other than the fees?

The only other charges may be for visits to the hairdressers, cafés, newspapers, items from the shop, telephone charges on the direct line, admission fees on some escorted trips, charges for glasses, private dental or healthcare and taxi fares.

If I entered Nightingale House in residential care, would I have to move if my health deteriorates?

Nightingale House offers a ‘home for life’ so regardless of your health needs, you will not have the upheaval of moving away, other than to another part of the home where your specific health needs can best be met. 

What personal belongings can I bring?

Residents are encouraged to bring their favourite items – be it an armchair, pictures or ornaments, to ensure that they are surrounded by familiarity. We cannot take in large pieces of furniture.

Are there any visiting restrictions?

Visitors are welcome at any time of day or night. We want them to feel at home.
