Short Stay Care Service
Nightingale House provides short stay and respite care throughout the year, giving carers an opportunity to take some time off and a chance for individuals to make decisions about their long term care options.
Short stay care can offer people a chance to visit the Home over religious holidays or to recuperate after an operation, benefitting from stimulating company, activities and exceptional comfort and care. Sometimes we are asked to provide short stay care for residents who may have been hospitalised, possibly through a fracture or fall, but are not yet quite ready to return home.
Short stay residents –as well as their families – often use this time at the Home to make a final decision about whether they will become permanent residents at Nightingale House.
Short stay and respite care is available to all individuals, including those with nursing needs or dementia.
Our Residents Services Department is on hand to explain the different options available and to work out the best way forward for each individual.
